Popova Revival

Lyubov Popova (1889–1924) was a leading Russian avant-garde artist who transitioned from Cubo-Futurism to Constructivism, creating paintings, graphic art, and designs for theater and textiles. Born into a wealthy family, her education included travel to Italy to study Renaissance art and Paris to study Cubism under Jean Metzinger. Popova was a influential teacher and proponent of integrating art into daily life, designing fabrics and stage sets after the Russian Revolution. She died young at 35 from scarlet fever, shortly after her son also died from the disease.
